Euro-2012: Lack of Money to be in Ukraine
It is impossible to hold final competitions of Euro-2012 in Ukraine with the help of state means. The Minister for Family, youth and sport Viktor Korzh supposes so. Minister confessed he does not know what sum of money is needed for holding Euro-2012. “We are expecting for information from the regions. After it we will make calculations together with the Finance Ministry. The main task is to find investors because it is impossible to hold this tournament with the help of state means”, noted Korzh. Korzh also assured of holding the final match of Euro-2012 at the Olympic stadium in Kyiv. “Information about the fact this tournament will be held in Warsaw in accordance with the construction near the Olympic stadium is just the rumors”, he said. As for construction of new stadiums, Minister noted: “I have met with representatives of Dutch company which already built 30 stadiums already all over the Europe. They noted construction of arena with the stands is unprofitable. We need sports complex with corresponding infrastructure, particularly, hotel and entertaining centers. For example, “Metallist-City” sports complex is being built with a square 42 ha in Kharkov”.The Minister made a visit to Poland last week. He discussed preparation for the final of Euro-2012 with the Minister for sport of Poland Tomas Lipetz. “We agreed on creating intergovernmental organization which will control preparation for the tournament. I think there will be no problems with information interchange”, noted Korzh.By Delovaya nedelya
