The prosecutor office in the Lvov oblast examines four leads of man-caused accident which took place in Ozhidov village in the Bugskiy district, informed prosecutor in the Lvov oblast Anatoli Prishko.

This catastrophe could happen as a result of improper actions of engine crew workers, violation of safety rules during transportation of dangerous freight, improper state of rails. This accident could happen as a result of human intervention.

“Investigation has been carrying out, officials checkup all the leads. They work round-the-clock”, noted Prishko.

Prosecutor of the Lvov oblast informed law enforcement have been already interrogated railwaymen and freight forwarder from Kazakhstan. They examine the corresponding documents.

Also Prishko informed the technical examination of rolling equipment and rails, facility fire safety commission, ecological and economical examination will be made soon. At the same time he informed prosecutor officials had to stop examination of site of occurrence because “currently there is threat to life and health of people, including people who can make examination of site of occurrence”.

“Still there is a great number of smoke and toxic gases. So we wait for permission to continue the work”, noted Prishko.

As a reminder, on July, 16 the accident of freight train (58 cars) happened, particularly, 15 special tank-cars with dangerous chemical agent – yellow phosphorus on Krasnoe-Brody railway stage near Ozhidov station at the Lvov railway.

Consignor of goods is Kazakhstan (Asa station), consignee – Poland (Oklesa station). As a result of the accident 15 tank-cars with yellow phosphorus ran off the rails. 6 out of them were burned down. The same day the fire was extinguished and spread of toxic combustion products was localized. 18 victims who suffered from phosphorus in the Lvov oblast are in the military clinical centre at the Defense Ministry of Ukraine in the Western oblast.
